Here to stay

Namaste family & friends.

It has been 22 days since we left Sweden. It feels more like 2 months ago. We have experienced, seen & eaten a lot since we first arrived in Kathmandu. Our favourite dish so far is dumplings called MoMo. Favourite drink is Milk tea Masala which is similar to our chai latte back home however much better and cheaper.

Our weekdays are normally spent at SAATH's office working on different projects such as improving their website and planning workshops for the kids at the Hakunamatata program. Charlotte has also started working at her school Sushila Art Acadamy as a vocal and piano instructor. We have a scooter and from the 2nd of October an apartment located in beautiful Dhobighat, Lalitpur just waiting for our family and friends to come and visit! It's getting more and more real that we are now living in Nepal! Alright!!

Last week we got back from a small trip to Pokhara and Chitwan where we went with SAATH to expand their program to different cities. A very bumby busride back and forth driving in the mountains was a great experience it self, however we could not sit on the roof with like we wanted to. Next time! We went to schools in Chitwan to attend workshops along with interacting to HIV-infected kids in Pokhara while listening to the stories of their parents. Some of the life stories are heartbreaking as life has turned its back on these people so many times. May there always be a helping hand out there to reach out for marginalized groups!

There has been a lot of first experiences. First time meeting an elephant for Charlotte. First time tasting goat lungs. First time riding a scooter in Kathmandu's chaotic traffic. First time cooking Swedish food in a Nepali kitchen. First time watching the Himalayan sunrise. First time standing in pouring rain sheltering an older women from getting wet meanwhile trying to get a glimps of the living god Kumari during a festival. First time experience with no toilet paper.. And many more to come. Everyday is a new experience and we love it!
