3rd day in Nepal

Today we spent our saturday at a farmers market in Thamel along with our friend Bijeysh and his organization SAATH. The market is set up for local farmers, designers & organizations with all kinds of crafts for you to buy. We fell in love with their concept of re-cycled idéas who all had a purpose of helping the society with work and substainable products. For example DhartiMata´s substainable lady pads. They create organic pads for women made out of Nepali cotton which you can re-use through washing. The production is made by Nepali women who are also educators in sexual orientation for women in Nepal to get them more aware of their own bodies. Among them there were also organizations who recycled plastic materials and then created into furniture and interior design. So many cool & creative idéas! Go Nepal!

The rest of our day was spent in lovely Patan where we enjoyed our first cup of delicious chai tea. Patan is the sound of silence in compare to Kathmandu city center where everything sounds loud all the time.
We also had a interesting experience of an indoor barbeque to celebrate Newari Teej festival. Can it get any better?
